Testimonials from our Alumni

“Alok Vidyashram has helped me build 13 foundational years of my life starting from nursery until grade 10. I’m indebted to the entire faculty for helping me develop and become the person I am today. Alok has been my comfort zone and it always will be the same. The values that I picked up from Alok help me till date. From the laughters till the tears, I cherish every moment I have spent in Alok. I always get short of words when someone asks me about my days at Alok, as the words are never enough. I feel beyond greatful to have experienced all that Alok offered me. I feel proud to be a part of the Alok family and an Alokian!”

Time has been flying by for me. I distinctly remember my first day in Alok Vidyashram, where I was called out in the assembly to introduce myself. I lacked confidence and could never speak in front of the crowd. But today when I see myself aired on media and conferences, I just and just thank my school for making the person I am today. We say “it all depends on the individual” which is also true but it is also about building your strong base. I can vouch for the the quality of education, the level of support, family feel from the academic which I have always had in Alok.

I am currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Foundation for Development Management (FDM), a development consultancy that carries out Research, Monitoring and Evaluation of donor-funded projects in Nepal. Alok Vidyashram has played a significant role in bringing me where I am today. As a part of the development field, much of the work that I do today includes critical thinking - a skill which I largely credit Alok for teaching me. Moreover, it is a well-known fact that Alok placed an emphasis not only on students’ studies but also on their overall development. I remember being constantly encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities which subsequently helped boost my confidence to a large extent. This confidence has been a great help to my work today as it has allowed me to maintain an excellent network and forge relationships with foreign clients. Most importantly, Alok taught me the right values of life which are ever so important in today’s world.

Alok Vidyashram tries to instill into each student a particular set of skills. Skills like, but are not limited to, communication, unity, and determination. Skills that teach students from a young age – to work in team environments, help and support their colleagues/classmates/ citizens, and have a desire to stand out in a crowd. All these skills are essential parts that foster the growth of our professional and personal life. With that in mind, in my opinion - the core values associated with the skill taught in Alok are tolerance, kindness, and excellence. So, what does it really mean to be an Alokian? To be an Alokian means to be able to accept a differing opinion, political view, and religion. To be an Alokian means always to be ready to provide a helping hand to those in need. To be an Alokian means always chasing excellence, especially when the world around them accepts mediocrity.
